WALKING FOR WELLNESS

Today is World Mental Health Day, which raises issues of mental health and promotes support for those affected around the globe. 

Over the past couple of years, many of us have become advocates of walking as a means to improve wellness and it’s easy to see why it’s a popular national pastime and form of exercise. It’s free or very low cost, doesn’t require any equipment or training and it’s a fabulous way to enjoy the outdoors. 

It also has great health benefits, improving heart and lung fitness, boosting feel-good chemicals in the brain, enhancing mood and helping to reduce stress and anxiety.
