We are delighted to feature Robin Elt Shoes as part of our series featuring some of the UK's leading independent footwear retailers as they re-open following lockdown.
Robin Elt Shoes is a West Country shoe dynasty founded in Worcester almost 150 years ago in 1872. Robin Elt Shoes has stocked Josef Seibel shoes for many years, the brands aligning in their passion for offering premium, stylish and comfortable footwear.
Having closed under lockdown in late March, Robin Elt Shoes is now back to business with the company’s eight shops once again full of quality footwear and open to welcome customers. Their website also re-opened a month ago and is trading well.
Managing Director, Jenny Elt, the fifth-generation family member to run the business, said, “It is wonderful to be able to welcome back our customers. We have missed them hugely over the past few months! There are a few changes to our stores, but still very much with the look and feel of Robin Elt Shoes and the service to put our customers at ease.
“We have carefully considered each of our stores to enable social distancing, deep cleaning and other hygiene measures including hand sanitisation and the spraying of shoes with leather-safe anti-bacterial spray. Our merchandising and window display also reflect our currently more casual lifestyle and demand for product of this nature.”
Robin Elt Shoes’ trading hours will be 10am to 4pm (or 4.30pm in some stores) until further notice. Vulnerable customers are invited to make an appointment just before or after these hours, where they will have exclusive access to the shop.
Jenny adds, “Please do come and visit as soon as you feel ready. This is a great time to shop local, support your high street and help independent businesses to recover during these difficult trading conditions. You can be sure of a warm welcome at Robin Elt!”
